The rainbow colours

In our bilingual section we are reviewing the colours. Do you know there is a trick you can use to learn new vocabulary so that you can  remember it easily? It is called mnemotecnic and it consists on inventing an absurd word, phrase or sentence using the first letter of the words you want to learn.
For example, to remember the colours of the rainbow which are, RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, ,GREEN BLUE, INDIGO and VIOLET you can invent a sentence like this:

Ronaldo Ombligo Y Gilito Bobo Intentaron Volar.

Another mnemotecnic I often teach my students is the word MaLeTa to remember the position of some adverbials at the end of the sentences:
M of modo, L of lugar and T of tiempo.
So if we have to translate a sentece like: La semana pasada mis hermanos estudiaron en la biblioteca silenciosamente, we know where to place the adverbials:
My brothers studied quietly in the library last week.
                                        M              L                 T

And the last one has to do with the verb to come: A way to remember the three forms is with the sentence: COME CAMEllo COME.

A funny way to remember, isn't it?  Can you give me examples of mnemotecnics you use to learn vocabulary in English? I'd like you to share it with us.

Something about me.
This is my favourite song: HOTEL CALIFORNIA by an American group called The Eagles. From my point of view, this is one of the best songs ever written. It was first released in 1977 ( that year I was only 10!) and in three weeks 1.000.000 records were sold.
It was my English teacher in COU (now 2nd year of Bachillerato) the one who first made me come across the song in one of our English classes. Ever since I've listened to it thousands of times; I like it so much that I have it in my cell phone as my ring tone!!!
I hope you like it.
Hello everyone!
Comienzo este blog con la idea de animar a mis alumnos/as a ver el inglés desde un punto de vista distinto al que solemos tratar en clase. Además pretendo convertirlo en una especie de banco de recursos en el que iré publicando todo aquello que crea que pueda ser de utilidad para todos. Espero que os animéis a visitarlo.
